OUR STORY

Yaegaki was founded in Hyogo, Japan in 1666. The Yaegaki brand established in 1881, was built on the brewery’s distinctive sake-brewing methods, handed down from one generation to the next through its 350-year history. Yaegaki has been brewing sake in Vernon California since 1999. We are pioneers in the US sake-brewing industry, incorporating local ingredients with traditional methods passed down through generations.

ROGA is a second-generation Sake label with a mission to introduce high-quality domestic Sake for everyone to enjoy. The name ROGA was inspired by a traditional Japanese poem. ROGA is a traveler who has come a long way from home, has an adventurous spirit, and is looking for new discoveries. Along the journey they look up at the night sky and are reminded of where they came from and their roots. This parallels our journey from Japan to the United States. Drinking sake is fun and festive. Make everyday a celebration with the bright aroma of ROGA.

OUR PROCESS

koji rice

JAPANESE RICE VARIANT

We only use a premium Yamadanishiki rice variation from the Sacramento region of northern California. Yamadanishiki is “Shuzo-kotekimai,” or the best rice variety for sake-making and the most widely used sake rice in Japan.

California Sunset

CALIFORNIA TERROIR

California soil is very rich in minerals and the environment is quite suitable for growing short grain rice. Clean and pure water from the northern mountains makes Sacramento a premium rice growing region. Also, Yamadanishiki grows well when there are drastic temperature changes between day and night.
